Penis Fat Transfer Filler Comparison2022-10-02T19:09:14+00:00

Penis Fat Transfer

Fat Transfer Procedure $12,000

Including LipiVage + VibroSat Cannula + PRP

Inject fat from the stomach into the penis

  • Advantages – Fat Transfer

    • Safer than injecting permanent substances such as silicone, PMMA, paraffin, or having implanted devices such as a silicone sleeve
    • Liposuction is part of the procedure, removing unwanted fat from the stomach
    • A small amount of fat may survive for a number of years, however, most fat is reabsorbed in 3-12 months
    • An increase in flaccid penis length due to the weight of the fat, making ligamentolysis (penis lengthening surgery) unnecessary.
  • Disadvantages – Fat Transfer

    • Temporary – most fat will reabsorb in 3-12 months requiring future surgery
    • Expensive – $8,000 + future top ups
    • Irregularities – Lumps, nodules of necrotic fat, scar tissue
    • Soft Texture – ‘Fatty’, as fat feels elsewhere on the body. A limitation of this procedure is that the penis will be surrounded by a layer of fat.
    • Risks of surgery/hospital admission
    • Difficult to reverse except by surgical removal of fat
    • 4 to 6 week recovery time before resuming sex
  • No impact on fertility or having children

  • No impact on the quality or frequency of erections

  • No negative effects on long-term health

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Higher Risk2019-01-01T00:16:05+00:00

Generally Less Safe (Penis Surgery is Higher Risk)

Fat transfer surgery is higher risk than penis filler injections due to the need to go under general anaesthetic, and a greater risk of complications. See recent death from fat embolism.

Fat is not found naturally in the penis2019-01-01T00:16:36+00:00

Fat is made by the body and found in most places, however, the body does put any fat in the penis naturally. The penis needs to be firm when erect rather than surrounded in a layer of fat.

Temporary2019-01-01T00:17:02+00:00

Temporary – Usually lasts 3 – 12 months *

Fat is reabsorbed by the body over 3 – 12 months after which ‘top-ups’ are required. A small amount of fat can survive in the penis for a very long time, however, the result is not permanent.

Fat is living tissue and its survival requires it to establish a new blood supply after being removed from the stomach. There is no fat in penile tissue naturally, so the survival rate, when transferred to the penis is low. Any fat that survives is distributed arbitrarily along the shaft with areas of fat survival and areas in which no blood supply has been established (fat necrosis). The result is lumpiness.

* Results will vary from person to person.

Permanent Results2019-01-01T00:17:38+00:00

Claims are often made that a fat transfer to the penis will provide a permanent result, however, this is misleading. A small amount of the fat transferred to the penis may survive for a long time, however, any permanent size gain is most likely to be in the form of hard nodules of necrotic fat with calcification. In almost all cases a fat transfer will need to be repeated a number of times in order to smooth out irregularities and maintain any increase in size.

Recovery time 6 weeks2019-01-01T00:18:41+00:00

Depending on your profession more than 2 weeks may be required off work and patients should not have sex for 6 weeks.

Recovery Calendar Penis Surgery

Fat transfer surgery typically takes 1-2 hours in a private hospital and typically does not require an overnight stay.

Fat transfer – most common complications2019-01-01T00:19:28+00:00

Fat transfer – most common complications:

Swelling, which can last up to 3 months

Bruising (2 weeks)

Infection (rare, but serious). Antibiotics are prescribed.

Skin fibrosis

Scarring

Skin necrosis requiring surgical removal

Fat necrosis, fat nodule formation

Embolism, death (very rare)

 * Individual results will vary from person to person.

Fat transfer is generally safe for penis enlargement, however, the results are inferior to dermal fillers.

Dermal Filler

  • Advantages – Penis Filler Injections

    • Safe – Dermal filler is a safe product which has been used in the body for more than 20 years
    • Reversible fillers – the filler can be altered or dissolved away (rare) should it ever be required
    • Effective – dermal filler procedures generally have a high rate of patient satisfaction
    • Texture – firm and realistic compared to traditional fat transfer surgery
    • No surgery required
    • Recovery time 1 week before resuming sex.
    • 30 minute procedure, no hospital admission or surgery required.
    • An increase in flaccid penis length due to the weight of the filler, making ligamentolysis (penis lengthing surgery) unnecessary.
  • Disadvantages – Penis Filler Procedures

    • Temporary – up to half of the filler is likely to have been metabolised (absorbed by the body) in 12-18 months
    • Expensive – $3,500 + future injections
    • Irregularities are possible and may require the patient to press into the filler to mould it while the filler is setting (1 week), should there be any unevenness
    • Risks of reversible dermal filler injections (low)
    • Too much filler, the wrong type of filler, or filler injected poorly (too shallow), can give substandard results
    • The Androfill technique ensures that filler is injected at the correct depth and in the correct distribution.
  • No impact on fertility or having children

  • No impact on the quality or frequency of erections

  • No negative effects on long-term health

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Safe (Low Risk)2018-12-31T22:56:18+00:00

Penis fillers are lower risk than surgery. No surgery is necessary and the procedure is reversible by injecting a substance which dissolves away the filler if necessary.

Temporary2018-12-31T22:57:33+00:00

Penis filler is metabolised (absorbed) by the body over 12 – 24 months, at which point most patients have up to 50% of the filler remaining. In rare cases, penis filler can be absorbed more quickly, or last longer than expected.

Permanent Results2018-12-31T22:58:10+00:00

High-risk substances, usually a form of polymer or plastic, can provide permanent results, however, they are not allowed to be used in USA as they cause serious complications.

In some cases, safe reversible penis fillers, and bio-stimulatory fillers can produce results lasting many months or years beyond their expected lifespan.

Long-Term Results

Size increase typically up to a 1-inch2018-12-31T22:58:47+00:00

* As with fat transfer, it is possible to increase the girth of the penis by up to 2 inches, however, this requires a large number of injections.

More filler results in more penis girth.

Recovery time2018-12-31T22:59:28+00:00

Resume sex after 2 weeks when using Androfill injection technique

No need to take time off work

Recovery Time Penis Fillers

The procedure typically takes 30 minutes. Walk in – walk out basis.

Filler – most common complications2018-12-31T23:00:16+00:00

Swelling, which can last up to 1 month

Bruising (1 week)

Filler migration (filler moving from where it was injected). Rare after the first week when injected using the Androfill technique

Uneven distribution of filler. The filler can be shaped and moulded during the first week before it sets. The filler can be altered or dissolved using Hyaluronidase enzyme

Infection (rare). New patients are expected to take a 5-day course of antibiotics and abstain from sex for 7 days.

 * Individual results will vary from person to person.

Dermal fillers are safe and effective for penis enlargement.

  • Smooth (with Androfill technique)

  • Firm (with Androfill technique)

  • Lower risk method replacing traditional penis fat transfer surgery.

  • Used for over 5 years in the UK (Androfill) and over 15 years in South Korea and Japan where penis filler injections account for more than 80% of penis enlargement procedures¹.
